The spelling lists come from the Peninsula District spelling adoption, Words Their Way. Students
are placed in groups based on the results of a spelling assessment. Students cut their word lists and sort
them into categories. The word sorts go home on Monday, with the the spelling test being at 9:45 on Friday.
Green Group - The words this week focus on adding "ing" to words with specific patterns: you drop
the "e" to add "ing" with words ending in "e" (hike/hiking). You double the consonant if there is a vowel before it (set/setting).
You just add the "ing" if the word ends in a consonant (read/reading).
