Hi! I'm Mrs. Mayfield

For the last twenty four years I have been teaching in the Peninsula School District. During my teaching career, I have worked with Kindergarteners on up through Fifth Graders. Throughout this experience, I have been dedicated to helping my students reach high levels of academic achievement. I am a life long learner  with a high level of energy.  I have a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis on Integrating Technology in the classroom.
 
In my personal life, I live in downtown Gig Harbor with my husband, Roger. We have three grown daughters, one 11 year old granddaughter, 22 month old twins, and one 18 month old grandson. Our family is all about babies! I am an avid outdoors person.  I love to hike, bike, horseback ride, golf, kyak, and garden.  I also really enjoy reading and movies.

My mission is to empower my students to reach their full potential. I will treat them with respect, compassion and understanding as I establish high expectations. I will encourage students to not only explore their own talents, but to recognize  that they hold the power to succeed. I will work to instill a lifelong love of learning as students build positive self concepts based on personal commitment, integrity and the pursuit of excellence.
 
 
 
I really encourage you to communicate with me regarding any concerns you may have about your child's education.  For this to be a successful year, it must be a school/home effort.
